This Album Is A Masterpiece IMHO Now I can listen anytime, anywhere. This album in particular helps me feel connected to my life for some reason. Like, how I felt as a teen and the wonder and confusion of life during those years but now with adult wisdom and strength. Clash the Truth is the second studio album by American indie rock band Beach Fossils. It was produced by Ben Greenberg formerly of The Men and songwriter Dustin Payseur. It was released on February 18, 2013, through Captured Tracks. Dustin Payseur wrote and recorded a demo of the entire album in his apartment in New York before recording it professionally in a studio. Clash the Truth finished recording at the Excello Recording studio in the fall of 2012 after recording was interrupted when Payseur's. Elsewhere, Beach Fossils' indecisiveness arises more subtly. Some wondered if the relative cleanliness of their 2011 What a Pleasure EP detracted too much from the scrappy charm of Beach Fossils it isn't the production methods that defined them so much as a kind of instrumental formalism where all the moving parts work in an almost militaristic lockstep. The wishy-washy attitude may be slightly bothersome for most of Clash the Truth, but it's frankly inexcusable on Generational Synthetic, a song about the intersection of commerce and art whose title makes its point abundantly clear. Whether or not you think Beach Fossils have earned the right to make a song like this is a moot point. After recording the first Beach Fossils album in decidedly lo-fi fashion and mostly by himself, Dustin Payseur decided to make a change for the group's second album, 2013's Clash the Truth. First, he teamed up with producer Ben Greenberg of the Men and headed to a real studio then another after the first one flooded during Hurricane Sandy. He also replaced the drum machine he'd been using with a real drummer, Tommy Gardner, and recorded the bass and drums live together. I have heard of Beach Fossils before. Clash the Truth wasnt from this obscure thing, but from a band that I had spent minutes of my life listening to. I remembered a picture, of something that looked like it could be a white fence or vinyl siding, and suddenly I had to put Clash the Truth to the side for a second while I searched the internet, trying to unearth Beach Fossils debut. And then there it was: a lo-fi artifact dating all the way back to 2010, a record I was sure I heard before, but remembered absolutely nothing about. Since that day, Ive listened to the first Beach Fossils reco. Genre: Indie Pop. Clash The Truth marks a significant progression for Beach Fossils, one that will leave you excited about where they are heading next. Full Review. Best of 2013. Worst of 2013. Suggest Blurb.
